Sabrina Lorah, PhD, Director joined Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI) in 2009 as Senior Instructional Designer of NUARI’s recently initiated Cyber Incident Emergency Management Project. In 2010 Sabrina was appointed Director of NUARI’s Learning Technologies Research Institute. She brings over 20 years experience in designing and developing blended learning solutions to industry and academia.
Julie Atwood, Instructional Designer joined NUARI in January 2010 as an Instructional Designer for the FEMA training programs. Julie holds an Associate of Applied Science in Individual Studies – Business Communications, a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts, and a certification in Multimedia Production. She has been researching content, designing instruction and developing eLearning courses since the 1990s for select global organizations and Fortune 500 companies.
Sam Carbaugh, Visual Arts Lead joined NUARI in March 2010 as a Visual Art Lead for the FEMA training programs. Sam received his Master’s in Sequential Art from the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, VT and has worked as a freelance illustrator for many local and national clients.
Chris Wasser, SharePoint Architect joined NUARI in March 2010 as a SharePoint Architect for the FEMA training programs. Prior to joining NUARI Chris worked as lead SharePoint consultant for Competitive Computing in Colchester, VT focusing on intranet and business solution development and implementation for many regional companies and state organizations.
Scott Holsten, SharePoint Engineer re-joined NUARI in March 2010 as a SharePoint Engineer for the FEMA training programs. Scott first joined NUARI in August 2005 as a database programmer, departing in 2007 to pursue a position at the consulting firm Competitive Computing in Colchester VT as a Software Engineer working with various clients developing and implementing SharePoint business solutions.
Ted Fischer, Information Assurance Analyst joinedNUARI in 2009 as a member of the Learning Technology Research Institute, and is the Information Assurance / Network Operations Analyst. He brings more than 35 years experience in network and security operations, including 15 years in network and security training, to this position. A retired U.S. Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer (CWO4) (Communications), Ted holds a CompTIA Security + Certification, is a Learning Tree International Certified TCP/IP Professional and Learning Tree International Internetworking Professional.
Roula Creighton, Instructional Designer
Ms. Creighton has been with NUARI since 2005. Prior to joining NUARI, Ms. Creighton was the a Staff Development Specialist responsible for all staff training and development initiatives at the Syracuse University Library. Her experience includes curriculum and training development using instructional design and adult learning principles to develop customized performance solutions for customers. Having worked as an Instructional Systems Specialist for the Army's School of Armor at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, Ms. Creighton has experience with the Army's Systems Approach to Training (SAT) process and TRADOC standards for course development. Ms. Creighton holds a Master of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation.
